REVIEW: MAC BAD GIRL RIRI LIPSTICK VS. JORDANA MATTE LIPSTICK IN TAUPE

MAC: I purchased this lippy two months ago, and i think that I've now used it enough to be able to write a review on it! This lipstick was part of the limited edition range at Mac by Rihanna, and i purchased it at Myer for $39 AUD. At the time there were two or so other colours, but this one seemed to stand out the most!

Packaging:
The lipstick comes in a super cute white and rose gold themed packaging. Engraved on the product is "RiRi".
Just the typical standard lipstick packaging.

Product:
Texture- When swatched, this product goes on amazing. It has a nice creamy, matte consistency. Despite it being a matte finish, it doesn't dry out your lips and is pretty hydrating for a matte lipstick.
Colour- The colour is sort of like a dark mauve red, with brown undertones. It appears red in most pictures, but the best way to describe it is a shade that is much darker version of your natural lip colour.
Longevity- I found that this lipstick lasted a decent few hours before having to reapply! Even when eating, 80% of the colour remained which is amazing since i dont usually use a lip liner with it.

JORDANA: I purchased this lipstick off Cherry Culture a while ago, for a fraction of the cost in comparison to the Mac lipstick. Including postage, the lipstick turned out to be only $2.00!!!

Packaging: Obviously with such a cheap price, i wasn't expecting much for the packaging. It comes with a clear cap and gold barrel. The problem is, you can't wind it down which is annoying as you have to take extra care when placing the cap back on. Other than that, the packaging isnt too bad.

Product:
Texture: When swatched, the lipstick goes on smoothly and has a fairly creamy texture. Since it's matte, it has no shimmer or shine. Although not as hydrating as the Mac lipstick, it doesnt dry out my lips which is a good thing.
Colour: The colour is much cooler than the Mac, but is very similar. More brown toned than red.
Longevity: This product lasts me a few hours before i feel the need to touch up!

In general, both of these products are very, very similar. The only big difference is the packaging and the price tag! If you're not looking to splurge $40 on a lipstick, i suggest you try out some of Jordana's lipsticks as they are extremely afforadble and decent quality! But if you want to invest in a nice, everyday lipstick then try out Mac's Bad Girl Riri one :)
